Bottom Line
At 70 years young, I’ve come to realize that hitting your “peak” in life—whether in sports,
business, or personal growth—requires understanding who you are and where you need to improve.
That’s why I created Peak You: to offer practical tools and insights that help you manage life’s
inevitable ups and downs and keep your progress on an upward path.
• Personal Background: Married for 48 years, with three married children and six
grandkids.
• Professional Experience: Over 40 years of senior executive experience plus eight years of
executive coaching and consulting, backed by a lifetime of insights from diverse experiences.
• Peak Philosophy: Reaching your peak is never a straight line; it involves bouncing back from
setbacks and learning more about yourself.
• Assessments & Tools: Free self-assessments and deeper, scientific evaluations (Judgment Index)
help pinpoint personal areas of weakness.
• Ongoing Support: Programs like Peak Pathways guide you to systematically address and improve
those weaknesses.
My name is Ken Smithmier, the creator and founder of Peak You. I turned 70 in November of 2024, and
I’ve been fortunate to experience a long and eventful life. From being married for nearly five
decades to watching my children grow and start families of their own, I’ve learned many valuable
lessons. One of the greatest joys I’ve discovered in the past eight years is the art of executive
coaching. Working one-on-one with people is immensely rewarding, yet by its nature, it’s limited in
scope. That’s why I started looking for ways to share my knowledge more broadly.

Peak You was born from that desire. I wanted a platform where I could offer affordable and
time-efficient resources to people—resources that would otherwise only be available through
individual coaching sessions. Whether you’re aiming to excel in a professional setting, pursue
sporting achievements, or simply become the best version of yourself, the concept of “Peak You”
applies. It’s about recognizing that life’s progress seldom moves in a straight line. We all face
bumps in the road: setbacks, disappointments, and unexpected challenges. The crucial question,
however, is how we manage ourselves during those tough times to keep moving forward.
In my opinion, self-awareness is the foundation of any meaningful personal development. You can’t
reach your goals if you don’t understand what drives you, where your blind spots lie, and how to
manage your reactions in difficult situations.
While honest self-reflection is valuable, I’ve found that taking formal assessments can provide deeper
insights. On PeakYou.health, you’ll find a wide variety of free assessments that I’ve created, each targeting
common issues I’ve encountered in my coaching work. For those seeking more scientific or in-depth
analysis, you’ll also find paid evaluations from Judgment Index. These assessments delve into greater
complexity and offer a level of detail I could never replicate on my own.
Once you’ve identified areas that need improvement, programs like Peak Pathways step in to offer
structured support. These programs guide you through targeted exercises and prompts designed to
keep your focus on consistent growth. Over time, this helps you transform weaknesses into strengths
and keep your personal or professional “trendline” pointed upward.
I’m passionate about this project because it reflects my deep commitment to helping people. At 70,
I feel a strong desire to make the most of what I’ve learned—and to share it with others. If any
part of Peak You resonates with you, I encourage you to explore the site, watch the videos, or read
the articles. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. I take pride in being highly
responsive, and I’m more than happy to discuss how these tools or my coaching approach can help you
reach your own peak.
